Pregnancy Options

quote

Finding yourself in an unplanned pregnancy can be a scary, confusing time. We are here to help you sort out and explore all of your options with this pregnancy. Abortion may seem like a quick fix to your unplanned pregnancy but it may simply create far more problems than you realize. There is more than one option when dealing with an unplanned pregnancy.

Parenting:

This may seem like an impossible task at this point in your life, but that is not necessarily true. We are here to help with lots of free resources you may need. We have maternity clothing, all sorts of baby items, baby furniture, diapers, formula, clothing for infants to size 6, parenting classes, LifeSkills classes and much more to help along the way. And all of it is FREE. For resources we do not have, we have lists of community referrals we can share with you to fill in the gaps. Life may get tough, but we can walk right beside you during that time and help in so many ways.

Adoption:

This option may seem totally impossible. We hear so often "I could never carry a baby for nine months and release it to another family to raise." But adoption is actually the most self-less option in an unplanned pregnancy situation. What a wonderful thing to give birth to a baby, look in that baby's eyes and say "I love you so much that I want the very best life possible for you! My situation is not very good right now and the best place for you is with a family that is ready to take care of you and provide a great life for you." Is adoption easy? Oh no! It is not an easy choice. But, it is one that chooses life for your baby and one that will probably be easier for you to live with. Please contact an adoption agency in your area to discuss any questions you may have about adoption. They are there to answer your questions with no pressure.

Abortion:

It may seem like an easy solution to this crisis but it can be far more damaging than that. Be sure to make a very informed decision before going to the abortion clinic.

Possible Physical Effects: Most abortions have no complications. However, approximately 1 out of every 100 early abortions and about 1 out of every 50 later abortions do have some form of complication. We want you to know all the facts before making this choice. You have a right to know. Be sure to ask your abortion provider to explain each of the following risks.

  • Heavy Bleeding
  • Infection
  • Incomplete Abortion
  • Allergic Reaction to Drugs Used
  • Tearing of the Cervix
  • Scarring of the Uterine Lining
  • Perforation of the Uterus
  • Damage to Internal Organs
  • Death (very rare but does occur in some cases)

Abortion and Breast Cancer: The medical community is still researching and debating the link between abortion and breast cancer. Enough research has been conducted, though, to make it a very important issue to consider. Abortion causes a sudden drop in estrogen levels that may make breast cells more prone to cancer. When a woman has a miscarriage, that is actually a natural act and her body quickly adjusts. When someone comes in from the outside (an abortionist) and ends the pregnancy, our bodies go through a "shock" period. This is when the medical community believes we are 'setting ourselves up' for possible abnormal breast cancer cells that can develop into cancer later on in life.

Post Abortion Stress Syndrome: Be prepared for one or more of the following problems that could be experienced following an abortion. If you see any signs of any of the following, please seek professional counseling. Do not allow these issues to begin ruling your life.

  • Fear of failure
  • Fear of being judged
  • Fear of making decisions
  • Fear of taking risks
  • Feeling of defeat
  • Feeling unworthy
  • Depression
  • Guilt
  • Shame
  • Panic attacks
  • Addictions
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Difficulty with relationships
  • Inability to bond with other children
  • Sexual dysfunctions
  • Sense of loss
  • Sleeplessness, bad dreams, nightmares
  • Eating disorders
  • And perhaps many other symptoms

If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, please understand that you are not alone and help is available. We offer Post-Abortion Recovery Assistance. Contact MyLife Medical and Resource Centers to find out more.

We are here for you.

Spiritual Consequences: People have different understandings of God. Whatever your present beliefs may be, there is a spiritual side to abortion that deserves to be considered. Having an abortion may affect more than just your body and mind. It may have an impact on your relationship with God. What is God's desire for you in this situation? How does God see your unborn child? These are important questions to consider. We can help. Contact us today.
